E-MU Xboard 25/Xboard 49/Xboard 61 Firmware 0.46 Windows 2000/XP/XP x64.Feature Enhancements:Support for new Zones functions for Xboard 25 and Xboard 49.Improved Velocity curves for Xboard 25 and Xboard 49.Fixes:You can now re-plug your Xboard into different USB ports without having to re-install drivers.Issues with the Xboard freezing during operation have been fixed.After you install this firmware, you must either install the latest Xboard drivers (version 5.1.12.1.1070 or higher), or re-associate the Xboard with the existing driver. To take advantage of the new zones features, Xboard 25 and Xboard 49 users must also install the latest Xboard Control software (V1.0.1.10 or higher).To Install the firmware:Connect your Xboard and turn it on.Check and note the driver version you currently have installed: A. Right-click My Computer (either on your desktop or in the Start menu), and select Manage. B. From the tree, select Device Manager, and expand Sound, Video, and game controllers. C. Right click the E-MU Xboard icon, and select Properties. D. Click the Driver tab, and note which Driver Version is listed.Run the self-extracting firmware installer.After reading the readme, click Continue.Select the device you want to update, and click Update. Note: DO NOT unplug the Xboard during the firmware update.Once calibration finishes, click Exit.When the Found New Hardware Wizard appears: If the driver version you have currently installed is earlier than 5.1.12.1.1070 (determined in step 2), close the Wizard by clicking Cancel, and install the latest driver. Go to www.emu.com/support or www.asia.creative.com/support to obtain the latest Xboard drivers. If the driver version you have currently installed is later than 5.1.12.1.1070 (determined in step 2), continue to step 8.In the Found New Hardware Wizard, select No, not this time, and click Next.Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and click Next.Select Don??â„¢t search. I will choose the driver to install. and click Next.From the list of compatible hardware, select E-MU USB-MIDI Device. And click Next. ! Note: in a few cases after the firmware update the Xboard is recognized as "USB Composite Device" and not "USB Audio Device." You should let the Wizard install the "USB Composite Device" driver. Afterward the Wizard will re-appear and recognize the Xboard as "USB Audio Device," in which case the steps above apply.When the ???Windows Logo Testing Dialog??? dialog appears, click Continue Anyway.When prompted with the ???Insert Disk??? dialog, click OK.When prompted with the ???Files Needed??? dialog, click Browse.Browse to either the WINDOWSSystem32drivers directory of the drive your Operating System is installed on. (If you have no ???WINDOWS??? directory, replace ???WINDOWS??? with ???WINNT???).Select the file emuumidi.sys (or simply emuumidi), and click Open.Click OK.If you encounter the ???Copy Error??? dialog, click Browse.Browse to either the WINDOWSSystem32 directory of the disk your Operating System is installed on. (If you have no ???WINDOWS??? directory, replace it with the ???WINNT??? directory).Select the file emuumidi.cpl (or simply emuumidi), and click Open.Click Retry.
